We thank Kanal1 for his interest in our article,2 and we are satisfied by his attention to our manuscript entitled “The Association Between Atherogenic Index of Plasma and No-Reflow Phenomenon in Acute Coronary Syndrome” and printed in the December issue of the journal.2 We partly agree with the valuable comments and critiques of the author.1 Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of saphenous vein graft (SVG) in the setting of acute coronary syndrome is associated with systemic inflammation, which prone the vessels to no-reflow phenomenon and unsuccessful PCI.3 Our data did not include patients who underwent PCI of SVG, as we only included patients with significant lesions in the left anterior descending artery, circumflex artery, right coronary artery, or their major branches. However, it would have been beneficial if we had specifically mentioned this issue in the exclusion criteria. Furthermore, our data did not include variables such as the duration of patients’ admission to the hospital and the timing of PCI, as we have already indicated as limitations of the study. We believe that such limitations occurred due to the retrospective design of the study and may have affected the results. We think that well-designed prospective studies can address these issues. On the other hand, lipid samples of the patients were collected after a fasting period, as already stated in the manuscript.
